The Netflix series "Dandelion," based on the original work by Hideaki Sorachi, has received an official release date. As announced during the "AnimeJapan 2026" event, the adaptation by the manga artist best known for "Gintama" will premiere worldwide on the streaming service on April 16. To coincide with this, a new trailer and key visual were released, and additional voice actors were announced.

At the center of the story are the characters Tetsuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane, voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi and Megumi Han, respectively. They are members of the "Japan Angel Federation Sendoff Department," an organization that cares for lost souls and guides them to the afterlife. The newly revealed roles are close confidants of the protagonists: Mamoru Miyano lends his voice to the character Masaki Kyōkawa, who has a deep connection to the main characters' "Tanpopo Group."

Particular attention is drawn to the casting of three additional roles with voice actors well-known to fans from "Gintama." Tomokazu Sugita (known as Gintoki Sakata) voices the leader of the Kiku group, Daisuke Sakaguchi (Shinpachi Shimura) will be heard as the original character Raymond Honda, and Rie Kugimiya (Kagura) takes on the role of Asako, Misaki's mother.

The voice actors expressed their enthusiasm for the project in advance. Miyano reported on a special recording situation: "The dubbing was very impressive because we worked with directional microphones. This allowed us to move freely and interrupt each other—I've never experienced it like that before, and it created an incredible atmosphere." Sugita commented on his involvement with his usual wink, while Sakaguchi and Kugimiya highlighted the mix of typical Sorachi humor and heartwarming moments.

Daisuke Mataga directs at the production company NAZ, while Yūki Hayashi composes the music. The series will consist of seven episodes in total.
