Netflix has announced the cast and premiere date for the first anime series adaptation of Baku Yumemakura's "Onmyōji" novels. The series is set to premiere on November 28.
The cast includes Kenji Hamada as Imperial Prince Atsumi, Yui Ishikawa as Tsuyuko, Daisuke Namikawa as Abe Seimei, Shintarō Asanuma as Minamoto Hiromasa, Rina Satou as Ashiya Doman, and Daisuke Kishio as Kamo Yasunori.
Soubi Yamamoto is directing the anime, with scripts written by Natsu Hashimoto and Yuiko Katō. Marvy Jack is the producer of the anime.
Yumemakura began writing the series as short stories in 1986, followed by three full-length novels between 2000 and 2008. The book series also includes several picture books.
The story is set in a fictional version of Japan's Heian period and focuses on the historical onmyōji Abe no Seimei.
