Netflix announces new actors for the film “City Hunter”.

Netflix's adaptation of the popular manga "City Hunter" has announced new cast members. Masanobu Ando will take on the role of Hideyuki Makimura, the protagonist's best friend, a former detective who has turned into a street sweeper and supports the main character Ryo Saeba in his endeavors. Fumino Kimura plays Saeko Nogami, a police detective who shares a special relationship with Ryo due to their shared past with Hideyuki, during which they exchanged underworld intelligence.

Ando expressed his excitement and the pressure of bringing a beloved character to life, aiming to entertain both fans of the original series and new viewers alike. Kimura shared her initial surprise and honor at being cast as Saeko, highlighting the supportive environment on set, especially the helpful insights from lead actor Ryōhei Suzuki to authentically portray her character.

The film "City Hunter," based on the original work by Tsukasa Hojo, aims to bring the action-packed, comedic detective story to the big screen, showcasing the adventures of Ryo Saeba, a private detective known for his ability to "clean up" the city from crime and his interactions with allies and foes alike.
