The anime will feature a cast including voices such as Akio Ōtsuka as Musashi Miyamoto and Toshihiko Seki as Kojiro Sasaki. Houchu Ohtsuka, Daiki Yamashita, and Subaru Kimura are also part of the ensemble, lending their talents to the characters Kensuke Matsui, Sahei, and Goro-Maru, respectively.

Shinya Sugai directs the series, produced by Sublimation. The renowned director Takashi Miike serves as Supervising Director. The music for the series is composed by Koji Endo, and Shochiku will oversee historical accuracy. The character designs are by Kim Jung Gi, except for Miyamoto Musashi, which is credited to Manilyn Toledana.

The character Miyamoto Musashi is modeled after the late actor Toshirō Mifune, famous for his roles in classic films such as "Rashomon" and "Seven Samurai."
