Netflix series 'Parasyte - The Gray' reveals teaser images and main video

The new Netflix series "Parasyte - The Gray," based on the original manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki, will be available worldwide exclusively on Netflix starting April 5. The new story expands the "Parasyte" universe and introduces viewers to a new plotline without neglecting the essence of the original. In the series, Jeon So-ni plays the protagonist Jeon Su-in, who, after a childhood marked by neglect and abuse, finds herself in a bizarre symbiotic relationship with a parasitic entity named Heidi following a near-fatal incident.

Unlike conventional parasitic takeovers, Heidi fails to fully control Su-in's brain, leading to an unexpected partnership. This complex connection is visually captured in the series' teaser, which shows Su-in's human face alongside her appearance altered by Heidi, highlighting the dual existence that defines their relationship.

"Parasyte" was originally published as a series in 1988 and was adapted into a TV anime in 2014, as well as two live-action films in 2014 and 2015. The story revolves around an average high school student, Shinichi Izumi, who is drawn into a battle against parasitic entities after one of them, Migi, takes over his right hand. The upcoming Netflix series aims to expand this universe.
