Netflix Series "Viral Hit": Main Trailer Revealed – Meru Nukumi Plays Kaho, Additional Cast Members Confirmed

Netflix has released the main trailer and key visual for the live-action series "Viral Hit" (Japanese original title: "Kenka Dokugaku"). At the same time, new cast members have been announced.

The main trailer shows high school student Kota Shimura, who is pushed to the brink by bullying and poverty. He teaches himself to fight and climbs his way up through live-streamed fights. Also shown are the chaotic nature of internet society, which reacts to every tiny detail, as well as gritty action scenes. Additionally, a mysterious master wearing a chicken half-mask appears. The key visual depicts Shimura with his fist raised, his allies Aki Yashio and Kanegon, and the heroine Kaho Asamiya.

Further cast members have been confirmed: Meru Nukumi as Kaho Asamiya, Noritaka Hamao as Tatsuya Ogi (a young hopeful in mixed martial arts and Kaho's childhood friend), Kentaro Maeda as Reo Shinjo (a taekwondo master and strong rival of Shimura). Yusuke Iseya plays underworld promoter Yugo Kuwata, Gaku Sano plays the enigmatic entertainment industry insider Eiji Kimishima. Yoshinori Otsuru plays Kaho's father Yutaka Asamiya (hospital director), and Tsurutaro Kataoka plays Aki's father Motoharu Yashio.

T.Jun, creator of the original story, expressed deep emotion at how the protagonist fights for survival from rock bottom, breaks through walls, and grows. Illustrator Kim Jung-hyun expressed deep emotion at seeing his soulfully designed characters brought to life so vividly by the actors.

"Viral Hit" is an entertaining youth drama about high school student Shimura, who stands at the bottom of the school hierarchy and decides to earn money by live-streaming his fights to take on strong opponents. Shimura is played by Oji Suzuka. The series launches globally exclusively on Netflix on June 11, 2026.
