Netflix unveils second trailer for “Good Night World”

Netflix recently released the second trailer for the upcoming anime series "Good Night World," based on the manga of the same name by Uru Okabe. To further heighten anticipation, the trailer also features a snippet of the title song "salvia," performed by the VTuber singing duo Nornis.



The anime boasts a lineup of talented voice actors. Daisuke Hirose voices the character Ichi, also known as Taichirō Arima. Nobunaga Shimazaki plays AAAAA or Asuma Arima, and Akio Ōtsuka portrays Shirō Akabane, who is also called Kojirō Arima in the story. Additional cast members include Aya Endo as May/Sayaka Arima, Aoi Yūki as Pico, Ryohei Kimura as Leon, Hiroki Nanami as Sasumata, Kenjiro Tsuda as Shigatera, Rie Takahashi as Hana Kamuro, and Inori Minase as Aya Arima.

"Good Night World" will be available for streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix starting October 12. The story revolves around the online game "Planet," where an impressive team called "The Akabane Family" appears. The twist is that the members of this online pseudo-family are actually a dysfunctional family in real life—consisting of a reclusive older brother, a successful younger brother, a disrespectful father, and a neglectful mother. The irony lies in the fact that this family finds comfort and connection in the virtual world while remaining emotionally distant in the real world.

The anime explores the paradox of the Akabane family's existence by contrasting their online heroics with their emotional offline struggles. In the game, they participate in monster battles, clash with rival guilds, and complete quests centered around the "Black Bird," the ultimate goal in "Planet."
