Netflix unveils teasers for upcoming anime series Akuma Kun

Netflix has released a teaser video and a new image for the highly anticipated anime series adaptation of Shigeru Mizuki's manga Akuma Kun. The teaser introduces four new cast members and additional staff, building excitement for the series' premiere.



The new cast members include Ryoko Shiraishi as Sanae Kazama, Akuma Kun's mother, Yumiri Hanamori as Mio Kazama, Sanae's daughter, Fairouz Ai as Gremory, a demon, and Yukiyo Fujii as Hina Asanagi, a college student and client. The team is further strengthened by Sakae Shibuya as character designer and chief animation director, Yumiko Kuga as art director, Kunio Tsujita as color key artist, Takeo Ogiwara as compositing director of photography, Wataru Osakabe as magic circle designer, and Akio Izutsu as composer.

Netflix's description of the story reveals that Akuma Kun revolves around a boy who strives to create a society where humanity realizes its true potential and lives happily—with the help of some unlikely allies. The new anime is set more than three decades after the events of the 1989-1990 anime. Voice actors Yūko Mita and Toshio Furukawa return as Akuma I / Shingo Umoregi and Mephisto II, respectively.

Junichi Sato is the chief director of the Akuma Kun anime project at Encourage Films, while Fumitoshi Oizaki directs the series. Hiroshi Ohnogi is in charge of the series' scripts, while Toei Animation handles production. Netflix plans to stream the new anime worldwide simultaneously this fall.
