Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated animated adaptation of Capcom's video game series "Devil May Cry." The featurette, released on Saturday, includes a preview of new animated scenes and an interview with Adi Shankar, the showrunner known for his work on "Castlevania." In the interview, Shankar apologizes to fans for the delays in the production of the series.

A trailer for the series was released by Netflix in September. The script for the first season, written by Shankar and Alex Larsen (known for "Yasuke"), was completed in November 2021. The series is animated by Studio Mir and is planned to span multiple seasons.

The first season will consist of eight episodes and introduce the franchise's iconic characters: Dante, Vergil, and Lady.

"Devil May Cry" has been adapted before, inspiring a 12-episode anime TV series by Madhouse in 2007.
