New fantasy anime series: "Goodbye, Dragon Life; Hello, Human Life"

A new anime TV series titled "Farewell, Dragon Life; Hello, Human Life" is set to premiere in 2024, bringing Hiroaki Nagashima's novel to life. The fantasy story revolves around the oldest dragon of the gods, who is killed by humans and reborn as a villager named Doran in a remote village. As Doran, he begins a life filled with warmth and simplicity until he meets Serina, a lamia—half-human, half-snake. Their encounter sparks a deep affection, despite the challenges and enemies they must face together.

The teaser images and promotional video for the anime have been released, showcasing Doran in his former guise as the Dragon God and his first meeting with Serina. Kenichi Nishida, known for works like "PAPUWA" and "Warm Woodsy Rascal," is directing the anime, while Naoyuki Tsuda, who has directed series such as "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and "Tokyo 24th Ward," is handling series composition. The animation is produced by SynergySP and Vega Entertainment.

Shunsuke Takeuchi has been cast as Doran, as he aims to portray a character with a cheerful aura despite his strong presence. Hitomi Sekine voices Serina. She shares a fascination for the character's natural charm and looks forward to conveying it to the audience with joy and dedication.
