The completely new anime adaptation of the legendary manga classic "Fist of the North Star" (Japanese: "Hokuto no Ken") has announced three additional voice actors. As the official production team reported, Hiroyuki Kinoshita will voice the village elder of Mamiya's village, Genki Taiga takes on the role of Mamiya's younger brother Kou, and Eiji Hanawa lends his voice to the bar owner. The new characters will be heard for the first time in the eleventh episode, titled "The Man of the South Star" (Japanese: "Nanto no Otoko"), which airs on June 5, 2026.

The announcement coincided with the release of preview images for the upcoming episode. In Episode 11, Kenshiro, the heir to the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken, meets the woman Mamiya, who resembles his deceased fiancée Yuria. Meanwhile, outside the village, a man so beautiful that he could be mistaken for a woman is searching for the bearer of the seven wounds on his chest.

In their statements, the three voice actors expressed their excitement about their involvement. Kinoshita, who has already been heard as an experienced voice actor in works such as "Detective Conan" and "One Piece," emphasized how much the fight scenes of the original manga impressed him in his youth. Taiga, who plays Kou, stated that he did a lot of screaming for his short but intense scene and is looking forward to the result. Hanawa described his role as the bar owner as a rare "non-dying conscience character" and promised to portray the exploding enemies with due respect.

The new anime series is being produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original manga by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. The adaptation uses state-of-the-art CG animation and, according to the creators, stays closer to the source material. The main role of Kenshiro is voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi, while other main characters such as Bat, Lin, Shin, Yuria, Rei, Mamiya, Jagi, Toki, and Raoh are portrayed by Daiki Yamashita, M·A·O, Koji Yusa, Saori Hayami, Yuichi Nakamura, Ruriko Aoki, Wataru Takagi, Tsuguo Mogami, and Taiten Kusunoki. The narration is provided by Koichi Yamadera.

The series has been airing since April 10, 2026, every Friday at 25:00 (local time) on Tokyo MX and BS11, and is streamed worldwide exclusively via Amazon Prime Video. The uncensored version on Prime Video shows violence and grotesque elements uncut. The opening theme song "Hallelujah" is by the band [Alexandros], while the ending features a reinterpretation of the classic "Ai o Torimodose!!" by Toshl.

The original story was published from 1983 to 1988 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The new series is the first complete anime remake in over 18 years.
