The producers of the live-action film 'Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki' (In the Clear Moonlit Dusk) have released a new trailer that captures the first tender moments of the love story between the two main characters, Kohaku and Yoi. At the same time, the cast for further important roles has been announced.

The story revolves around two 'princes' of high school: Kohaku Ichimura (played by Shunsuke Michieda), who is called a prince because of his perfect looks and wealthy background, and Yoi Takiguchi (Seira Anzai), a girl who also earns the nickname prince due to her androgynous style and cool demeanor. The plot follows their first love, which allows both to discover entirely new feelings.

The new trailer shows how Kohaku and Yoi grow closer despite inner conflicts and unspoken feelings. When Kohaku suggests, 'Should we give it a try?', something begins to develop between the two. The images capture both Kohaku's longing gaze and Yoi's confusion over the budding emotions.

In addition to the lead actors, five more cast members have been confirmed. Rintaro Mizusawa takes on the role of the third prince, Takuto Oji, who is also called a prince because of his surname (Oji, reminiscent of prince). He is a work colleague of Yoi and brings fresh energy to the story as a counterpart to Kohaku. Mizusawa, who previously worked with Michieda in the 2023 drama series 'My Second Aoharu', expressed excitement about the reunion: 'I had already read the manga and was surprised when I received the offer. I often asked myself whether I could do justice to the role. I talked a lot with director Tanimura about how to portray the 16-year-old student body convincingly. It's a character who is loved for his sincerity.'

Other new cast members include Yumena Hoshino as Nobara Tone (Yoi's best friend, who shares her love for boys' manga), Sayu Suzukawa as Kotobuki Hibiya (another friend), Takato Okura as Sentaro Akane (a cheerful classmate of Kohaku), and Tatsumi Asa as Shun Kuwabatake (a quieter friend of Kohaku).

The film is based on the manga of the same name by Mika Yamamori, which has been serialized in the magazine 'Dessert' (Kodansha) since July 2020 and now comprises ten volumes. The series has been awarded, among others, the 'ebookjapan Manga Award 2023' and the '2nd Everyone Loves Love Manga Award'. Worldwide circulation amounts to over 7.5 million copies. An anime adaptation aired on Japanese television from January to March 2026.

The live-action adaptation is directed by Kentaro Tanimura (known for 'Trillion Game'), with a screenplay by Yuichi Tokunaga ('Cells at Work!'). The music is composed by Shu Kanematsu. The film is produced by TBS Sparkle and distributed by Toho.

'Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki' will be released in Japanese theaters on October 23, 2026.
