The upcoming TV anime adaptation of the manga »Reiwa no Dara-san« by Haruomi Tomotsuka has received a second trailer. The video, released on June 7, 2026, not only offers further insight into the story but also reveals five new main characters and the ending song.
Among the newly announced voice actors are Aoi Koga (known from »Kaguya-sama: Love is War«) as Amane Hasegawa, Tomokazu Sugita (»Gintama«) as Naomichi Fudeki, Mai Aizawa as Miwa Ikago, Saori Hayami (»Kaguya-sama«) as the older Shinto priestess (Ane Miko), and Hochu Otsuka as Orochi. According to the official website, Amane is a classmate of the protagonist Hinata, who suddenly awakens from a coma and displays a mature demeanor. Naomichi is Kaoru's homeroom teacher and lives as a single with a cat. Miwa is a freelance designer and neighbor of the Misogiya family. The older priestess comes from a family of exorcists and once defeated the monster Yamatagimadara, whose spirit is represented by Orochi.
The duo REIRIE (consisting of Rei Kurose and Rie Kaneko) is responsible for the ending song. The track »Hinatabokko« plays in the trailer and is said to round off the mood of each episode according to the artists. The opening theme »Daradara♡Danshingu« was already mentioned in the first trailer.
Broadcasting begins on July 2, 2026 at 10:30 PM on TOKYO MX, followed by Kansai TV, BS Nippon Television, and at 9:30 PM on AT-X. AT-X will show a special version titled »Reiwa no Jidai ni Daijoubu nano!? Ver.«, which will also be included in the home video releases.
The Blu-ray and DVD series comprises three volumes; the first will be released on October 28, 2026. In addition to the regular edition, KADOKAWA is releasing a strictly limited Blu-ray version that includes a dakimakura cover of Dara-san personally designed by Tomotsuka. The first pressings also include a special booklet, a slipcase with artworks by character designer Koichi Kikuta, and an unofficial-looking extra mini-comic brochure.
Production responsibility lies with Studio Asahi Production (»Gushing over Magical Girls«). Masato Suzuki directs, with series composition by Noboru Kimura and Yasunori Yamada. Character design is by Koichi Kikuta (»Konosuba«), and music is composed by Rei Ishizuka. The previously announced main cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as the curse god Dara-san, Minami Tsuda as Hinata Misogiya, Momoka Terasawa as her sister Kaoru, and Masaki Terasoma as the narrator.
»Reiwa no Dara-san« tells the story of siblings Hinata and Kaoru, who live in a remote mountain village as guardians of a forbidden area. When they break the seal on a stormy evening, they encounter the serpentine being Yamatagimadara, who is actually feared as a terrifying curse god. Instead of being afraid, the children befriend the lonely spirit and affectionately call him »Dara-san«. A quirky occult comedy full of misunderstandings and warmth unfolds.
