New anime adaptation "3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei" (Class 3-Z: Mr. Ginpachi) announced

The animation adaptation of the spin-off Gintama Maruchibāsu Anime: 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei will begin in October 2025. A key visual, a current preview video, and the involved musicians have been officially revealed.

The key visual shows the characters around protagonist Gintoki Sakata (as teacher Ginpachi) with his class in front of a river landscape covered in sakura. The slogan Gintama’s Youth – Realized Here emphasizes the thematic focus.

- Ending theme: Underclass HERO by LONGMAN

An accompanying video offers previews of both tracks. The artists shared separate statements regarding their involvement.

Based on Tomohito Ōsaki’s novel adaptation of the Gintama franchise, the series relocates the original characters to a school setting. The story follows the eccentric educator Ginpachi and his students of class 3-Z through humorous everyday adventures.

The production celebrates the 20th anniversary of Hideaki Sorachi’s main work and offers an independent interpretation of the universe.
