The fantasy novel series A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation (original title: Odayaka Kizoku no Kyūka no Susume) by author Misaki is receiving an anime adaptation, scheduled to begin in January 2026. Alongside this, the first visual previews, casting details, and information about the production team have been released.
The story follows Rizel, a former minister of a powerful kingdom, who is suddenly transported to a parallel world. Instead of political intrigue, he now enjoys a relaxed life full of adventures and unusual encounters. Special attention is given to the dynamic relationship between Rizel and the eccentric adventurer Jil, who reluctantly becomes his companion.
Experienced voice actors Sōma Saitō (voice of Rizel) and Yuichiro Umehara (voice of Jil) have been cast in the lead roles. The direction is handled by Kenta Nota, supported by screenwriter Yosuke Suzuki. The character design adapts the style of the original illustrations by Sando, done by Akihito Fujiwara, while Kōsuke Yamashita is responsible for the musical score. The animation is produced by Studio SynergySP in collaboration with Ascension.
The released teaser images show Rizel and Jil in a peaceful city setting, highlighting their unconventional partnership. An accompanying promo video also offers glimpses into key moments of their journey.
Author Misaki expressed enthusiasm for the adaptation: "The heartfelt adaptation authentically captures the essence of the characters and their world." The voice actors and involved artists also emphasized their connection to the project.
The novel and the manga adaptation by Momochi have collectively sold over 1.8 million copies. The 20th volume of the novel series and the 12th manga volume will be released on April 15 by TO Books. Further updates regarding the story or production are expected at a later time.
