New anime adaptation Kamitsubaki SHICHIKECHAF ("Kamitsubaki City Under Construction") reveals the start date and cinema premiere

The original production "Kamitsubaki Shichikenchū" by KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO is receiving a TV adaptation, which will premiere on the TBS network on July 3, 2025. Prior to that, an exclusive theatrical version titled "Witchling – Die Töchter der Hexen" will be screened for two weeks in select theaters starting June 13.

The story follows five young "witch daughters" who battle Tesseractors in the decaying metropolis of Kamitsubaki—creatures born from human malice and greed. Armed with magical singing abilities, they confront these threats while uncovering the city's hidden secrets. A first promo video highlights the dark-mystical atmosphere and showcases the protagonists torn between duty and personal doubts.

Among the newly announced voice cast are Ayane Sakura as Lapras, Miyu Tomita as Haster, Yōhei Azakami as Aguni, Shūichirō Umeda as Anemos, Mai Tōdō as Koogel, and Shizuka Itō as the head of the reconstruction bureau. The cast blends seasoned and rising talents, bringing emotional depth to the characters.

The project, active since 2019 across various media formats, explores the complex mythology of the fictional city, combining action-packed scenes with socially critical undertones. The TV series will serve as a standalone narrative, appealing to both newcomers and existing fans. Accompanying marketing campaigns, including limited merchandise collections and interactive fan events, are already in the works.
