New anime adaptation Kaoru Hana Wa Rin to Saku announced: romantic school comedy with first insight

The manga series Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku by Sakamiko Mika is receiving an anime adaptation, set to premiere in July 2025. The romantic comedy tells the story of the encounter between Tsumugi Rintarō, a seemingly stern student from the underrepresented Chidori High School, and Waguri Kaoruko, a cheerful student from the elite Kikyō Girls' School. Their meeting at the confectionery shop run by Rintarō's family marks the beginning of a charmingly entangled relationship.

Directed by Kuroki Miyuki (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform), the series blends humorous everyday scenes with emotional moments. Character designs are handled by Tokuoka Kōhei, while Harada Moeki (Skip to Loafer) composes the musical score. The voice cast is led by Shōtoku Nakayama (Rintarō) and Honoka Inoue (Kaoruko), supported by an ensemble including Kikunosuke Toya, Kōki Uchiyama, Aira Ishibashi, and Aya Yamane in key roles.

A first key visual captures the protagonists' intense gaze at each other, accompanied by a trailer showcasing atmospheric dialogues and the diverse facets of the characters. The adaptation stays close to the original, which has been serialized on Magazine Pocket (Kodansha) since 2021, captivating readers with its heartfelt character portrayals and subtle romance.
