The new animated adaptation of the classic manga "Cat's Eye" (Japanese: Kyattsu Ai) by Tsukasa Hōjō has released its main trailer and an official key visual. The series will be released exclusively on Disney+ as a Star Original.

The released trailer begins with a scene where Detective Toshio Utsumi full of determination receives a theft letter from the notorious jewel thieves. In the further course, the three sisters Hitomi, Rui and Ai are seen during their daring art thefts, seemingly effortlessly stealing valuable paintings. Further scenes show the complex relationships between Toshio and Hitomi, who leads a double life as a café owner.

The key visual presents the three sisters during a nightly operation in the city, pursued by Detective Utsumi. The illustration captures the timeless charm of the original source material, combined with a modern visual style.

The musical accompaniment of the series is provided by the singer Ado, who contributes both the opening song "MAGIC" and the ending song "CAT'S EYE". Ado described "MAGIC" as a retro-pop song that makes the heart beat faster.

Original author Tsukasa Hōjō expressed in a statement his gratitude for the ongoing support of the fans and particularly pointed out the role of the character Kamiya, who served as an inspiration for the character Ryo Saeba from "City Hunter". Hōjō especially invited fans of that series to discover the origins of this popular character in the new adaptation.

The series will be released in two parts, with the first six episodes available from September, followed by the remaining six episodes from December.
