The series will feature Natsuki Hanae as Ryūto Kashima and Saori Ōnishi as Runa Shirakawa. Hideaki Oba will direct at ENGI, while Hiroko Fukuda writes the scripts for the series, and Yōsuke Itō designs the anime characters based on magako's original illustrations. The music is composed by Kei Haneoka and produced by Pony Canyon, with Takeshi Takadera serving as sound director.

The story revolves around the relationship between Ryūto Kashima, a gloomy social outcast, and Runa Shirakawa, a popular girl at school. Despite their differing social circles and hobbies, the two begin to overcome their differences when Ryūto asks Runa out on a date to lose a bet.

Makiko Nagaoka launched the light novel series in September 2020 under Kadokawa's Fantasia Bunko label with illustrations by magako. The sixth volume was released on Friday. A manga adaptation by Noyama Carpaccio debuted in February 2022 on Square Enix's online Gangan website, with the third volume set for release on April 12.
