New anime adaptation Yuusha Kei Ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-Tai Keimu Kiroku (punishment for heroes: records of criminal company 9004) announced

Within the scope of AnimeJapan 2025, the production of a dark fantasy series was announced, set to premiere in October 2025. The first key visual and a teaser trailer offer glimpses into the grim world surrounding the protagonist Zailo Forbatze and his shady allies.

The official artwork depicts Zailo amidst a group of morally ambiguous figures, whose motivations waver between revenge and a sense of duty. The trailer emphasizes the intense atmosphere through the first released character voices, hinting at inner conflicts and moral gray areas.

To celebrate the series' launch, a limited poster edition signed by the main voice actors will be raffled. Participation requires following the series' official X account and sharing a specific post.

The plot follows Penal Unit 9004, a group of former heroes forced into lifelong service of dangerous missions due to past crimes. Zailo, as the leader of the group, must not only combat external threats but also manage the tensions within the team.

The series adapts the eponymous novel series, known for its unflinching portrayal of guilt and atonement in a fantasy setting. The animation deliberately employs high-contrast color palettes and detailed character designs to visually underscore the dark themes.
