New anime projects for Haikyuu !! Unveiled: Cinema film and TV special announced

For the 10th anniversary of the sports anime series Haikyuu!!, two new projects were unveiled at a major event in Tokyo:

Feature Film Haikyuu!! VS The Tiny Giant:

As a direct sequel to the 2024 film Haikyuu!! The Movie: Battle at the Garbage Dump, the story follows the Karasuno team after their victory against Nekoma. The focus now shifts to their showdown against Ougiminami High, led by the exceptional player Kōrai Hoshiumi—who, much like protagonist Shōyō Hinata, bears the nickname "The Tiny Giant." Director Susumu Mitsunaka and Studio Production I.G continue their work on the series.

TV Special Haikyuu!! Path of the Monsters:

This short story sheds light on a previously rarely shown rivalry match between the teams Fukurodani Academy (led by the charismatic Kōtarō Bokuto) and Nekoma High (with Yūki Tora as a key figure).

A "super teaser" visual for the film depicts Hinata and Hoshiumi in a dynamic confrontation, while the special's logo features battle-themed typography. Both projects have yet to announce specific release dates but emphasize maintaining the animation quality of the series.
