The November issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius Magazine announced on Tuesday that Kotaro Sekine's BLAME! manga will reach its "final battle" in the next issue on October 26.

Sekine launched the manga in April. It is based on the Blame! anime film, which itself is an adaptation of Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! manga.

The film's official website describes the brand-new story:

In the distant technological future, civilization has reached its ultimate net-based form. An "infection" in the past caused the automated systems to fall into disorder, resulting in a multi-layered city structure that endlessly reproduces itself in all directions. Now, humanity has lost access to the city's controls and is hunted and purged by the defense system known as Safeguard. In a tiny corner of the city lies a small enclave known as the Electro-Fishers. They are trapped between the threat of the Safeguard and their dwindling food supply. A girl named Zuru sets out on a journey to find food for her village, only to accidentally bring about its downfall when a watchtower detects her to eliminate the threat. With her companions dead and escape routes blocked, the only thing that can save her now is the sudden arrival of Killy—a wanderer on his quest for the Net Terminal Genes, the key to restoring order to the world.
