The anime adaptation of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has introduced two new cast members, Kana Ichinose and Chiaki Kobayashi, who will voice the characters Fern and Stark.
The anime is set to premiere with a two-hour special on September 29 in NTV's "Kinyō Roadshow," a time slot usually reserved for films. Subsequent episodes will air from October onwards in a new time slot on NTV.
The story revolves around the elven mage Frieren, who, after defeating the Demon King, must come to terms with her near-immortality and understand the meaning of life among mortals. The manga follows her new adventure as she fulfills the final wishes of her former comrades.
Madhouse will produce the anime, with Keiichirō Saitō directing. Tomohiro Suzuki will handle the series scripts, Reiko Nagasawa will design the characters, and Evan Call will compose the music.
The manga, which has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020, had 11 volumes as of September 15.
