For the TV anime adaptation of the popular light novel series "Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Itte kara 10 Nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita." (English title: The Legendary Hero Is Suddenly Back After Ten Years), announced for the year 2026, new production information has been released. This includes a second teaser visual as well as the announcement of further voice actor roles.
The now-released second key visual shows the protagonist surrounded by other main characters. It is designed to create a direct visual connection to the first teaser visual released previously.
Simultaneously, two important new characters and their casting were introduced:
Serulis Morton will be portrayed by voice actress Yui Ishikawa. She is the daughter of Goran, a former companion of the hero. Although she is officially registered only as an F-rank adventurer, she possesses combat abilities at B-rank level and is characterized by a good-natured and somewhat naive personality.
Shea Wolcott receives her voice from voice actress Mayu Sagara. She is a B-rank fighter and vampire hunter from the race of wolf people. Her kind is immune to the seductive powers of vampires. She meets the hero during a joint mission and thereby gets on the trail of his secret.
The story is based on a successful light novel series, whose print edition and comic adaptation together have reached a total circulation of over 4.25 million copies sold. It tells the story of the S-rank mage Luck, who sacrifices himself in a decisive battle to save his companions from an overwhelming threat. After a ten-year, solitary fight, he returns victoriously to his world and must realize that in his absence he has become a legendary hero figure. Physically rejuvenated by the battles he endured, he decides to keep his true identity a secret and henceforth live incognito as an F-rank adventurer under the name Rock.
The anime production is handled by Studio Tsukiniji. The direction is by Yoshiyuki Kanbe, the character design is by Majiro, and the series composition is the responsibility of Mitsutaka Hirota. The previously announced main cast includes Gaku Kajiwara in the role of the protagonist Luck/Rock, as well as Toshiyuki Morikawa as Erich and Takeshi Koyama as Goran.
