New character introduced in anime series 'Chained Soldier'

A newly released promotional video for the anime series Chained Soldier (originally Mato Seihei no Slave) offers a first look at an upcoming story arc and a significant new character, Soratori.

The new content centers on the character Soratori. She belongs to a powerful group of beings known as the "Eight Thunder Gods" (Japanese: Hachiraishin). This group serves as the main antagonists in the story, with the goal of annihilating humanity.

Soratori possesses the special ability to absorb individuals with special powers. Through this absorption, she can enhance her own power and takes on the form of a young girl. The released material emphasizes both her elegant and mysterious aura as well as dynamic action sequences where she encounters a high-ranking officer of the opposing special unit.
Cast with Experienced Voice Actress

The voice of the new character Soratori is provided by the experienced Japanese voice actress Ami Koshimizu. Koshimizu has a long career and has already lent her voice to many well-known characters in anime and video games. Among her most prominent roles are Kallen Stadtfeld in Code Geass, Ryuko Matoi in Kill la Kill, and Holo in Spice and Wolf. For her performance as Kallen Stadtfeld, she received a Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actress.

The series Chained Soldier is set in an alternate version of Japan where portals to a dangerous dimension called Mato have appeared. From this dimension come hostile creatures known as Shuuki. To combat them, a special defense force, the Mato Defense Force, was formed. A peculiarity of this world is that only women can gain supernatural powers by consuming peaches that grow in Mato.

The plot follows high school student Yuuki Wakura, who accidentally gets pulled into the Mato dimension and is rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the commander of the Defense Force's 7th Unit. He joins the predominantly female force and fights alongside them, utilizing a unique symbiotic ability. The Eight Thunder Gods, to which Soratori belongs, stand as powerful antagonists to this special unit.
