New character PV and campaign for the anime series Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara revealed

In preparation for the anime adaptation of Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara (German: What in the World Is Up with Detectives These Days?) starting in July 2024, the production team released the first of four weekly character PVs, focusing on the energetic protagonist Mashiro.

The PV showcases Mashiro as a lively but chaotic student who, with overflowing enthusiasm and quirky facial expressions, pursues her dream of becoming a detective. The animation highlights her physical agility and unconventional approach to investigations – a contrast to the composed style of her mentor.

Coinciding with the PV release, exclusive mini-illustrations of Mashiro in various facial expressions were published. Fans can download these as social media icons via the series' official channels. An accompanying campaign on X (formerly Twitter) and the website rewards active participants with digital goodies.

The series follows the experienced but down-and-out detective Keiichirō Nagumo (voice: Junichi Suwabe), who is forced into an unwilling duo with the optimistic student Mashiro (voice: Kana Hanazawa). Together, they solve cases, with Mashiro's unorthodox methods constantly clashing with Nagumo's cynical worldview.
