From mid-August 2009, a new series by the successful Japanese manga artist quartet CLAMP will be released.

The new work, titled Mangettes: Gate 7, will be published by Dark Horse Comics. There, monthly 80-page mini-volumes will be released.

The story of the new series is described as follows:

Between our consciousness, the waking world, and the subconscious dream state, there is a thin, veiled layer of lucid dreaming. While the conscious state belongs to individuals, all human spirits share this one hidden layer of dreams. Until now, only a few have possessed the power to enter this secret kingdom. There, however, a war is being waged to control the waking world. [...]

Hana, a high school student from Kyôtô, is the daughter of a temple caretaker. Her peaceful nature allows her to act within the hidden kingdom. But Hana can only achieve this through a strange animal that serves as her "totem" in the dream world—and as her companion on a journey to confront the masterminds of our reality.

The title and story have not yet been officially announced. Neither in North America nor in Japan. However, the series is expected to be released almost simultaneously in Japan, North America, and South Korea.

The two successful series Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic are likely to end soon.
