New details about the anime series Can Men and Women Be Friends? (No, they can’t !!)

For the upcoming premiere of the romantic comedy Can Men and Women Be Friends? (No, They Can’t!!), based on the light novel by Nana Nanana, additional information has been released. A second trailer offers insights into the plot and introduces new voice actors.

The series follows Hibari and Yuu, who made a promise of "eternal friendship" as teenagers. But when Yuu encounters his first love from the past, their relationship is thrown into crisis. The story humorously and sensitively explores whether platonic bonds between the sexes can exist.

The trailer reveals the voices of Yasunari Bongo as Shinji Makishima, Kousuke Suinaka as Hibari Inuzuka, and Hisako Kanemoto as Sakura Natsume. The ending song Dear my Soleil, performed by Hinata Tachibana, underscores the emotional atmosphere of the series.

At the AnimeJapan 2025 convention, voice actors Kikunosuke Toya (Yuu) and Sayu Suzushiro (Hibari) will appear at a live event to share behind-the-scenes details about the series.

Director Youhei Suzuki (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) and screenwriter Nozu Yaemori are responsible for the adaptation, while J.C.Staff (Toradora!) handles the animation.
