The upcoming TV series for the manga "Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko" by Tetsuhiro Koshita has revealed further details about its production. The series follows in the footsteps of the popular 1990s anime "Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei."
The story centers on Danko, the daughter of the original protagonist Danpei. She has inherited her father's fighting spirit and aims to form the strongest dodgeball team in the modern Reiwa era.
The main voice cast has now been confirmed. The title role of Danko will be played by Manaka Nakayama, marking her first leading role in her career. The rest of the cast includes Kaori Maeda as Chinko Kobotoke, Akira Sekine as Mochiko Etai, Yō Taichi as Susan Canon, and Yū Shinohara as Honey Otohana.
A special return is celebrated by veteran voice actress Noriko Hidaka. She voiced the young Danpei in the original series and will serve as the narrator in the new production, once again taking on the role of Danpei.
The series is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata. Series composition is handled by Ippo Hyōdō, while Narito Sekikawa serves as character designer and chief animation director. The animation production has been assigned to Studio CUE.
Accompanying this announcement, a first teaser visual has been released, featuring the five main members of the team. The anime series is scheduled to air in 2026.
