On July 28, 2026, the Japanese publisher Shogakukan released the first volume of the manga spin-off Duel Masters: Neon Light Girl. The series was published in the magazine Weekly CoroCoro Comic and comes from the pen of artist Sasaki Yuucha, who, together with screenwriter Kawasaki Daisuke, opens a completely new, dark chapter in the Duel Masters universe.

Unlike the classic Duel Masters stories, which revolve around strategic card duels, Neon Light Girl transports readers to a decaying futuristic metropolis called Antoma City. In this world marked by lawlessness and decay, police officer Justice Orion investigates, fighting against organized crime as a member of a corruption-plagued police force. The manga combines elements of a crime thriller with a dark, neon-lit cyberpunk aesthetic, thus targeting a more adult audience.

The first volume includes as exclusive bonus material the promo card "Oriotis Judge," adorned with an illustration of Justice Orion drawn specifically for the manga. The card is only included with the print edition and is likely to generate great interest among collectors of the Duel Masters card series.

Duel Masters: Neon Light Girl is the latest spin-off of the TCG series that has existed since 1999 and has already produced numerous manga and anime adaptations. While the parallel Duel Masters LOST series (by Matsumoto Shigenobu and Kanebayashi Yo) also strikes dark tones, Neon Light Girl sets its own unique accent with its noir-like investigative plot and independent main character.
