New ending theme cooperation for anime Hibi Wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi ("Despite everyday life the food remains delicious") unveiled

The upcoming slice-of-life series "Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi" features "Miso Soup to Butter" ("Miso Soup and Butter") by singer Shio Reira as its ending theme. The song, which was already released digitally in October 2023, highlights the everyday joys of simple meals. A promotional video has been released alongside it, blending scenes from the series with Reira's acoustic performance of the song.

On April 23, the song will receive its first physical CD release. The cover artwork depicts the protagonist Mako playing guitar in a traditional Japanese restaurant, inspired by Reira's music video. This visual homage emphasizes the harmonious connection between the anime and the song.

The series, produced by Studio P.A.WORKS, follows five female students whose daily lives are shaped by interpersonal encounters and culinary discoveries. The creative team, including director Kawazura Masaya ("Non Non Biyori") and composer Mizutani Hiromi, focuses on a calm narrative style that captures the extraordinary within the seemingly mundane. The character designs and story concepts are by artist atto, whose style blends nostalgic and modern elements.
