New fantasy series Kinato's Magic launches in Weekly Shonen Jump

A new series titled Kinato's Magic has launched in the Japanese manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. The story comes from author Kento Amemiya, marking his return to the magazine after a previous publication.

The plot revolves around the protagonist Kinato, who possesses healing powers. In his world, he initially believes his magical abilities are only good for everyday tasks like working as a village chiropractor. However, this assessment changes when he embarks on a greater adventure.

For author Kento Amemiya, this is his second attempt to establish a series in Weekly Shonen Jump. His previous work, Shadow Eliminators, was discontinued in 2024 after 19 chapters. The new start gives him the opportunity to reach readers again with a different story.

A first visual impression of the series was released in advance. Accordingly, the calm-looking main character is said to use his healing powers in a new way. The magazine has announced several new series for the winter launch.

The series is released internationally in English by Viz Media and is available through their digital Shonen Jump magazine as well as Shueisha's MangaPlus service.
