New Gundam series "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" announced: teaser visual and first details released

The latest TV series in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, has been officially announced. This project marks a first: a collaboration between Studio Khara, known for the Evangelion series, and Sunrise, the studio behind the Gundam series.

The director is Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for his work on the Rebuild of Evangelion series, including Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. The series concept comes from Yoji Enokido, who has worked on Sailor Moon S and Neon Genesis Evangelion, among others, and Hideaki Anno is also contributing to the script. The mecha design is handled by Ikuto Yamashita, further raising expectations for the visual and conceptual execution of the series.

The series is set in a future where illegal Mobile Suit battles, known as "Clan Battles," take place. The story revolves around Amate Yuzuriha, a high school girl living peacefully in a space colony. After an encounter with Nyan, a young refugee girl from a war-torn country, Amate is drawn into the world of "Clan Battles" and pilots the Mobile Suit GQuuuuuuX. Other characters include Shuuji, a mysterious boy who pilots an unknown Gundam.

Voice Cast

- Amate Yuzuriha: Voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa, who expressed her excitement about being part of this iconic Gundam project and praised the energy and intensity of the series under Tsurumaki's direction.
