New Horimiya -piece- Anime Reveals Concept Promotional Video and Returns of Cast and Staff

A new concept promotional video for the upcoming Horimiya -piece- anime, titled "Shuwa Kyun Version," has been released, thrilling fans who are looking forward to the series' premiere in July. This new anime adaptation will bring to life stories from the original manga that were not included in the previous series.



The returning cast members of the new anime include Haruka Tomatsu as Kyoko Hori, Kouki Uchiyama as Izumi Miyamura, Seiichirō Yamashita as Toru Ishikawa, Yurie Kozakai as Yuki Yoshikawa, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kakeru Sengoku, M.A. O as Remi Ayasaki, Reina Kondo as Sakura Kōno, Daiki Yamashita as Shū Iura, Jun Fukuyama as Akane Yanagi, Taku Yashiro as Kōichi Shindō, Momo Asakura as Honoka Sawada, Daisuke Ono as Kyōsuke Hori, Ai Kayano as Yuriko Hori, Yuka Terasaki as Sōta Hori, and Hisako Kanemoto as Motoko Iura.

The returning staff is led by director Masashi Ishihama, while Takao Yoshioka oversees and writes the series script. The character design is by Haruko Iizuka, who also serves as chief animation director alongside Akira Takata, Hiromi Ogata, and Yumi Shimizu. Other staff members include Asuka Yokota as color key artist, Hisayo Usui and Yasunao Moriyasu as art directors, Hiroaki Kimura as editor, Yūya Sakuma as director of photography, Katsuaki Miyaji as CG director, Jin Aketagawa as sound director, and Masaru Yokoyama as music composer. The animation is produced by CloverWorks, with Takao Sano as another chief animation director.

The previous TV anime has been rebroadcast in Japan, giving fans the opportunity to revisit the series in anticipation of the new season.

The series depicts the story of two seemingly opposite high school students who find common ground outside the classroom. Hori-san is a popular girl who is actually plain and pragmatic, while Miyamura-kun appears to be an average, gloomy fanboy but is actually a handsome young man with piercings and tattoos. Their unexpected encounter outside school leads to a sweet story about friendship and school life.
