For the upcoming animation project "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance," further details about the characters and cast have been released. The series, which is part of the 20th franchise anniversary celebrations, will bring back some of the franchise's most well-known protagonists to the forefront.
The project relies on a familiar voice ensemble that will portray the central characters of the series:
- Nanoha Takamachi will once again be voiced by Yukari Tamura, who has embodied the role since the first anime in 2004.
- Fate T. Harlaown, as in the previous main series, will have her voice provided by Nana Mizuki.
- Hayate Yagami will continue to be portrayed by Kana Ueda, who first took on this role in "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's."
- Reinforce Zwei will also be voiced in this anime by Yukana, who previously played this character in "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS."
The series website also released three additional names from the voice cast: Yuna Ogata, Akinari Sato, and Yukana.
"Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance" tells a standalone story, conceived and written as an original narrative by franchise co-creator Masaki Tsuzuki.
The plot is set in a world that was brought to the brink of destruction 30 years ago by an unknown invasive species. Although humanity can now arduously defend its security, the threat remains omnipresent. The organization "United Nations Investigation Agency EXCEEDS" combats these hostile beings and the disasters they cause. At the center of the story is the hunter Shiina Kuze, who lives on a remote island in the far-eastern country of Mizuho and wishes to lead a quiet life with her sister Setsuna.
The direction is handled by Takayuki Hamana, who was previously responsible for the films "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection" and "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation." The character design is by Issei Aragaki.
The musical accompaniment for the series will be crafted by prominent voices from the ensemble. Nana Mizuki will perform the opening song titled "CRIMSON BULLET," for which she wrote the lyrics herself.
The ending will receive its musical rendition from Haruna Aoki. Aoki is also part of the cast as a voice actress.
The anime is scheduled to start in July.
