New insights into Clevatess: The King of Beasts, the child and the heroes of the ashes: second trailer and extended line -up unveiled

Extensive updates have been presented for the fantasy anime adaptation of Yuji Iwahara's Clevatess. The second trailer offers glimpses into the dark world of the series, where chosen heroes fail to defeat the Beast King Clevatess, thereby triggering a catastrophe. The last hope lies in a mysterious infant entrusted to the enemy.

Among the newly announced voice actors are notable talents: Hashizume Jun (Golden Kamuy) voices King Haiden, while Miyano Mamoru (Free!) takes on the role of Stephen. Additional cast members include Ono Yuuki as Milro, Miyauchi Kentarō as Holgas, and Uchida Yūma as Katz. The opening theme Ruler is performed by singer Maejima Mayu, who emphasizes the emotional depth of the song in a statement.

A newly released episode key visual depicts the ruler in the midst of a gloomy throne hall, despairing over the loss of his son—a visual hint at the complex family conflicts in the story. Author Iwahara complements this with a short story exploring the background of the royal family.

The production, directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi (Ultraman) and written by Keigo Koyanagi (The Case Study of Vanitas), focuses on a dense atmosphere, supported by Studio Lay-duce (Fate/Grand Order). The series will begin airing in July 2024.
