New insights into Nakatsukasa-Sesei Monogatari Kōgiroku: Second trailer and voices

A second trailer has been released for the upcoming anime adaptation of Nakatsukasa-sensei Monogatari Kōgiroku: Sensei ga Nazo o Toite Shimaikara ("Prof. Nakatsukasa’s Records of the Unexplained: Because the Teacher Solves All Mysteries"), offering deeper insights into the series' mysterious world. The story, a spin-off of Natsuhiko Kyōgoku’s Hyakki Yagyō series, serves as a prequel and sheds light on the early years of the iconic character Nakatsukasa Akihiko (later known as Kyōgokudō), voiced by Kōki Koyanagi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure).

The trailer features the psychic detective Kusakabe Shiori (voiced by Aina Fushimi), who, alongside the sarcastic literature teacher Nakatsukasa, becomes entangled in enigmatic phenomena such as "ghosts in the library."

The series follows Shiori as she, a new teacher at a school, encounters the eccentric Nakatsukasa. Together, they investigate seemingly supernatural incidents that always turn out to have logical explanations—though the line between rationality and the unfathomable grows increasingly blurred. Based on the manga by Aki Shimizu and Natsuhiko Kyōgoku, the adaptation blends detective elements with philosophical depth and a visually dark atmosphere.

The series is set to premiere on April 7, 2025.
