As part of the AnimeJapan 2025 convention, extensive details about the upcoming Netflix production Moonrise were revealed today. Alongside the final trailer and a central key visual, 13 additional voice actors were announced, portraying characters from both conflicting factions of the story.

The series, which premieres exclusively on Netflix on April 10, is directed by Iizuka Masashi (Attack on Titan) at WIT STUDIO. The original concept comes from author Chōhei Kambayashi, while the character designs are based on artwork by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist). The story revolves around the conflict between peacefully living Earth inhabitants and a resistance group from the moon rebelling against the planet's dominance.

Among the newly announced voices are Yamada Misaki as Ries Rochelle, leader of the Earth's special unit VC3, as well as Kobayashi Yū and Kōri Arisa in roles of other key figures. On the lunar side, renowned voice actors such as Koyasu Takehito and Aizawa Masaki join the cast. Special attention is also given to singer Aina the End, who not only performs the theme song Daijōbu but also plays the role of Marie.

The released key visual highlights the series' visual aesthetic, blending futuristic settings with detailed character designs. The trailer also offers glimpses of action-packed scenes as well as the political and emotional tensions between the opposing groups.

In addition to the series release, Netflix plans accompanying marketing campaigns, including limited-edition merchandise and background materials, which will be introduced in the coming weeks.
