New insights into the fifth anime season of "Rent-A-Girlfriend"

A new promotional video for the upcoming fifth season of the anime adaptation of Reiji Miyajima's series "Rent-A-Girlfriend" (Japanese: Kanojo, Okarishimasu) has been released. The video offers first glimpses into the new season and also announces the theme songs.

The released video begins with an inner monologue from the protagonist Kazuya Kinoshita and subsequently shows scenes featuring the main characters of the story. In parallel, it was announced that the opening theme for the season will be performed by Sora Amamiya, who voices the main character Chizuru Mizuhara in the anime. The ending theme is handled by the group nakigoto. The new season is scheduled to start in April 2026.

The manga series "Rent-A-Girlfriend" is by Reiji Miyajima and has been serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine since July 2017. The story follows college student Kazuya, who, after a disappointing relationship, "rents" a girlfriend through a rental app and meets Chizuru, which completely turns his life upside down.

Sora Amamiya, the voice actress and singer of the new opening theme, is an experienced voice in the anime industry. She began her career in 2012 and received the "Best Rookie Actress Award" at the Seiyu Awards in 2015. Among her most well-known roles, besides Chizuru Mizuhara, are Aqua in "KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!" and Elizabeth Liones in "The Seven Deadly Sins." Her music career started in 2014, and she is also a member of the music group TrySail.
