New insights into the fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero

The first trailer for the fourth season of the anime adaptation of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (eng. The Rising of the Shield Hero) has been released. It combines scenes from the new storyline with making-of material such as storyboards and animation sketches, offering insights into the production. Additionally, the voice actors for the new characters Varnahal and Jalaris were revealed, who will play central roles as the story progresses.

The team remains largely unchanged: Director Hitoshi Haga and screenwriter Keigo Koyanagi continue their work, while Studio Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss) is once again responsible for the animation. The opening theme Resolution, as in previous seasons, is by MADKID, while the ending theme Eien ni Ichikai (eng. Once for Eternity) is performed by Chiai Fujikawa. The trailer already gives a taste of the energetic soundtrack.

The fourth season delves deeper into the political intrigues within the kingdom: Raphthalia, falsely perceived as the heir to the throne, becomes the target of assassins. Protagonist Naofumi and his companions find themselves entangled in a web of power struggles and conflicts of loyalty as they attempt to uncover the truth and protect Raphthalia.
