New insights into the original anime Lazarus-director of Cowboy Bebop at work

The star-studded anime LAZARUS (English: Lazarus) unveils an atmospheric main visual and an action-packed teaser trailer. The series, produced by Studio MAPPA, combines international talent: director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), character designer Akemi Hayashi (Banana Fish), and action choreographer Chad Stahelski (John Wick) unite their expertise for a dark sci-fi setting.

In 2052, the drug Hapna is marketed globally as a "miracle cure with no side effects"—until it is revealed that it kills users after three years. The special team Lazarus, led by protagonist Axel, fights against the conspiracy and searches for an antidote. The trailer features fast-paced action scenes, cyberpunk-inspired cityscapes, and the moral dilemmas of the characters.

The series premieres on April 6 in Japan. International streaming platforms have yet to be confirmed.
