To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime adaptation, the beloved Frog franchise returns to the big screen this summer with a new film. As announced on the official website, the main trailer for "Shin Gekijouban ☆ Keroro Gunso: Fukkatsu shite Soku Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu!" as well as a new key visual have been released.

The roughly one-minute trailer shows a dramatic development: What initially begins as a carefree family vacation on a South Sea island quickly turns into a threatening crisis. Sergeant Keroro is initially devastated because he is to be left behind, but soon after, the platoon invaders are seen facing a massive enemy in space. The new visual impressively illustrates this threat: Before an Earth that seems doomed, the Keroro team rises to proudly fight their strongest opponent. In the background, the mysterious inventor Dr. Aruder and the new characters Aruru and Deruru can also be seen.

One of the biggest surprises of the reveal is the casting of the new original characters. Jesse, a member of the popular boy band SixTONES, will bring the brothers Aruru and Deruru to life as a voice actor in a dual role. He revealed that he was initially very nervous, but over time grew to enjoy the challenge and was even able to incorporate his own improvisations: "I had a great time playing both roles. I hope the audience will be guessing until the end: 'Wait, that was Jesse?'"

For the film's musical accompaniment, the versatile artist ano was once again brought on board. After already contributing the opener "Mata Kaettekita Kero! to March," she now also sings the official theme song "Kashippanashi Destiny." The song was written specifically for the new film and can be heard for the first time in the main trailer. ano commented that she incorporated her joy over Keroro's return in the Reiwa era as well as the lovable, unchanged everyday world of the characters into the song.

"Shin Gekijouban ☆ Keroro Gunso: Fukkatsu shite Soku Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu!" opens in Japanese theaters on June 26, 2026. The main roles are once again voiced by familiar voices such as Kumiko Watanabe as Keroro and the entire regular cast.
