For the upcoming new adaptation of the cult manga „Hokuto no Ken – Fist of the North Star“ (German title: Die Faust des Nordsterns), a first key visual has been revealed. The artwork shows protagonist Kenshiro in his iconic fighting stance – ready to use his characteristic techniques. The reinterpretation will be presented internationally for the first time at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, where the production team plans to share exclusive insights, new motion picture material, and details about the cast.

The plot of the series is set in a future destroyed by nuclear conflicts. Kenshiro, the last master of the Hokuto Shinken martial art, wanders as a tragic hero through a broken, violent world. Despite his destructive abilities, he is defined by his deep compassion for the oppressed. This makes him a symbol of hope in an environment where humanity has become a rarity.

The basis is the legendary manga series by Tetsuo Hara (art) and Buronson (story), which originally ran between 1983 and 1988 in the magazine Shūkan Shōnen Jump and shaped generations of fans. The new series celebrates the 40th anniversary of the first publication and highlights Kenshiro’s timeless iconography: modern animation techniques merge with classic design elements, giving the hero a fresh yet familiar look.

The series is scheduled to launch in 2026. The new adaptation promises not only intense action sequences but also profound, philosophical reflections on morality and humanity in a dehumanized world.
