The official key visual for the second season of the TV anime adaptation of "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e" (English title: Hana-Kimi) has been released. The image shows the three main characters Mizuki Ashiya, Izumi Sano, and Shuichi Nakatsu seeking shelter together under a single umbrella—a symbol of the growing closeness between them since Mizuki transferred to the all-boys' school a year ago.

The second season premieres on July 1, 2026, on Japanese television and will air on TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, as well as RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, MBS, and CBC TV. On Prime Video, the season will be available for advance and flat-rate streaming starting July 1 at 1:00 AM (JST); only the first episode will be released after its terrestrial broadcast, together with the second episode.

The animation is once again directed by Natsuki Takemura at Studio Signal.MD. The screenplay is written by Takao Yoshioka, and the character design is by Shiyi Su. The voice cast includes Aya Yamane (Mizuki), Taku Yashiro (Izumi), Kikunosuke Toya (Shuichi), Yuichiro Umehara (Minami Nanba), and Jun Fukuyama (Hokuto Umeda).

Both the opening theme "FLASHBULB" and the ending theme "Hanataba" are contributed by the band Omoinotake. The story of the second season is based on the popular manga chapters surrounding the school trip and the dance ball, introducing new characters such as Sano Izumi's younger brother Mori and the photographer Haru Akiba.

The original manga series by Hisaya Nakajo was serialized from 1996 to 2004 in the magazine "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) and has sold over 17 million copies worldwide. It has been adapted into live-action films and drama series in Japan, Taiwan, and Korea, among others. Nakajo, who passed away in 2023, had planned the anime adaptation together with the publisher and producers. The "Hana to Yume" editorial team emphasized in a statement that the series "can now continue to live on in animated form 20 years after its conclusion, thanks to the support of the readers."
