New Lycoris Recoil project announced

Good news for fans of the anime series Lycoris Recoil! The creators have announced that a new project is in the works. On the occasion of a special event, they released a video showcasing the best moments of the first season, which was animated by A-1 Pictures and aired in the summer of 2022 with 13 episodes.

Details about the new project are still scarce, and it is not yet clear whether it will be a continuation or a completely new story. The original anime was created through the collaboration of Spider Lily (consisting of Kadokawa Corporation, Dentsu Entertainment, and Aniplex) and Asaura, who wrote the original story. Additional voice actors include Shion Wakayama as Takina Inoue, Chika Anzai as Chisato Nishikigi, Misaki Kuno as Kurumi, Ami Koshimizu as Mizuki Nakahara, Kosuke Sakaki as Mika, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Majima.



The synopsis from Crunchyroll provides a glimpse into the world of Lycoris Recoil: Behind the peaceful days, maintained by the secret organization DA - Direct Attack and their all-girl agents Lycoris, lies a secret. Chisato Nishikigi is the strongest agent of the organization, while Takina Inoue is a talented but mysterious member of the team. The two work together at one of DA's branches, the LycoReco café, where they take on tasks ranging from serving coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping, and even teaching Japanese to foreign students. Despite the unusual tasks, Chisato and Takina, who are very different from each other, form an unlikely duo and embark on a chaotic daily life.
