The new TV anime adaptation of CLAMP's cult manga "Magic Knight Rayearth" will premiere in October. As announced at "AnimeJapan 2026," Ayane Sakura, Rumiko Okubo, and Rie Takahashi will take on the main roles of the three legendary Magic Knights.

Sakura voices the impulsive and brave Hikaru Shido, Okubo lends her voice to the confident Umi Ryuzaki, and Takahashi portrays the intelligent and empathetic Fu Hououji. The series will air weekly on Wednesdays at 23:45 starting in October on TV Asahi in Japan, in the "IMAnimation W" programming slot.

A teaser trailer and a new key visual were also released with the announcement, showing the three protagonists as Magic Knights in the fantasy world of Cefiro. Production details were also revealed: Yui Miura is directing, while Shigeru Murakoshi is in charge of series composition. The character design is by Satomi Watanabe, and the music is composed by Yuki Kajiura, Takumi Ozawa, and Shiho Terada. The animation production is handled by E&H production, and the project is supervised by UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.

The original artist collective CLAMP contributed a specially drawn illustration to celebrate the reboot and expressed their delight about the adaptation. The three main voice actresses also commented on the revival of the 1993 classic, showing great anticipation for their roles.
