New Main PV for »The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System«: ReoNa Sings Ending and Shows Elma's Path to Strength

The team behind the TV adaptation of »The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System« (Japanese: Tsuihō sareta Tensei Jū Kishi wa Game Chishiki de Musō Suru) has released the second main PV. The trailer not only provides a detailed look at the story and action but also reveals the ending song for the first cour.

The video starts with the striking line »I need you,« which protagonist Elma addresses to Luce. It shows the first encounter between the two, who believe in each other despite the contemptuous looks from other adventurers. In the first half of the PV, we see Elma and Luce using their abilities to fight monsters, and numerous other characters are introduced. The second part is marked by intense battles: Elma finds himself in a hopeless situation during his duel against his arch-enemy Maris, and his determined expression underscores the drama.

For the first season, the ending theme »Lv.1 Shokugyō: Ningen« (Lv.1 Occupation: Human) was composed by ReoNa. The singer, known from productions like »Sword Art Online: Alicization« or »Shadows House,« comments: »Even if it looks from the outside as if he has lost everything, even when he is mocked—he himself possesses solid knowledge. The path Elma takes feels almost refreshing and makes me excited.« The opening »Awake« is contributed by the rock band SPYAIR. The band explains: »'Awake' doesn't just mean 'to wake up,' but also expresses the feeling of moving forward despite doubts and pain. We poured the moment when frozen emotions begin to stir into a driving sound.«

The anime adaptation is being produced at Studio GoHands under the general direction of Shingo Suzuki. Direction is handled by Katsumasa Yokomine, with character design by Takayuki Uchida. The main roles are voiced by Takeo Otsuka as Elma Edvan, Shion Wakayama as Luce Rubis, and Natsuko Abe as Maris Edvan. The broadcast begins on July 2, 2026, at 0:26 AM (JST) in the Super Animeism TURBO block on MBS/TBS (28 stations) and spans two consecutive cours. Internationally, the series will be streamed on platforms including Crunchyroll.

The underlying story comes from the pen of Nekoko (novel source) with illustrations by Jaian and a manga adaptation by Lee Brocco. The plot follows Elma, who is cast out from his noble family after receiving the »defective class« of Heavy Knight. However, he remembers a previous life and realizes that this world exactly matches the VR game he once mastered perfectly. He uses his knowledge to turn the supposedly useless class into the strongest. The manga series has already sold over three million copies.

ReoNa's 13th single featuring the ending song will be released on August 26, 2026; a digital early release is already planned for July 3. In conjunction with this, the singer will start the »De:TOUR – Arterie« tour through small clubs in July and the »De:TOUR – Vene« tour through concert halls in October. A first arena performance is scheduled for March 2027 in Yokohama.
