New main trailer and ending theme for "Mahoutsukai Kunon wa Mieteiru" released

For the upcoming fantasy anime "Mahoutsukai Kunon wa Mieteiru" (approximately: "The Magician Kunon Can See"), an extensive main trailer and details about the musical score have been revealed.

The series is based on a successful web novel and light novel series and tells the story of the blind boy Kunon. A random experiment – the creation of a water bubble exactly the size of his eyeball – leads to an ambitious goal: He wants to create a new eye for himself using water magic. The trailer shows his journey from a listless boy to a gifted magic student, supported by those around him. These include his maid Iko, his fiancée Milika, his tutor Junie, and the court magician Zeonrie. Scenes from his school life hint at further challenges.

An experienced team is responsible for the adaptation. The direction is by Hiroaki Ōba, while Yuzuru Kashima is in charge of series composition and script. The character designs are by Yōko Satō and Toshimitsu Kobayashi, and the animation is handled by Platinum Vision.

The main role of Kunon is voiced by Saori Hayami. She is supported by a prominent ensemble, including Maaya Uchida as Iko, Akari Kitō as Milika, Rikako Yamaguchi as Junie, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Zeonrie.

The series' ending song is the title "Story feat. katagiri," composed by KOHTA YAMAMOTO and sung by katagiri. Both artists stated that the song is meant to capture the warm and hopeful atmosphere of the series. The opening song "Rakenaria no Yume" is performed by the virtual singer Iysekaijōchō.

The anime is scheduled for release in January 2026.
