The main trailer for the TV anime adaptation of Eri Ejima's manga "Taiari Deshita. – Ojō-sama wa Kakutō Game nante Shinai" (roughly translated as "Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games") has been released. At the same time, the production team announced four additional voice actors who will be featured in the series.

The story is set at Kuromi Girls' Academy, an elite school for daughters of wealthy families. Scholarship student Aya Mitsuki (voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa) admires the graceful Mio Yorue (Kana Ichinose), whom everyone calls "Shirayuri-sama" (White Lily). However, behind her elegant facade lies a secret: Mio is a passionate fighting game player who secretly plays at night in empty classrooms. When Aya discovers her and is herself revealed to be an experienced gamer, an unusual friendship begins that challenges the strict school rules.

The new main trailer offers a dynamic glimpse into the action-packed matches and showcases the series' two new songs: the opening theme "Inochi Mijikashi Taisuru Otome yo" by the band Hanabie., and the ending theme "New Game" by halca. Both musical pieces underscore the intense duels of the young protagonists.

Additional voice actors have been cast: Yumiri Hanamori as Hana Ichinose (Tamaki's older sister and vice-chairperson of the dormitory committee), Nobuyuki Hiyama as Gekido (an experienced player), Yohei Azakami as Kafu Akuryo (a mysterious fighter), and Taku Yashiro as Hoshiki (a skilled commentator). The commentator character Flamberge is voiced by real fighting game expert Aru, which is intended to ensure authenticity.

The series premieres on July 7, 2026, on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS NTV, MBS, and NBC Nagasaki. Originally planned for a 2025 release, production was delayed. Studio Diomedéa (known for works such as "Domestic na Kanojo") is handling the animation. The director is Shōta Ihata, with series composition by Wataru Watari ("Oregairu"). Character design is by Mayuko Matsumoto, and music is composed by Kana Hashiguchi. Audio recordings were produced in collaboration with FAV gaming, Kadokawa's professional e-sports team.

A special collaboration with Capcom's "Street Fighter 6" has been confirmed: Elementary school student Arisa Fujimiya (voiced by Maria Naganawa) uses Guile as her character in the series. A new collaboration visual shows all main characters together. At the "Chayamachi Oshi Festival 2026" on June 20 and 21, postcards featuring this design will be distributed at the Kadokawa booth.

Eri Ejima's manga has been serialized in Kadokawa's "Monthly Comic Flapper" since January 2020 and currently spans ten collected volumes. The English license is held by Seven Seas Entertainment.
