Manga creator KENT is preparing to launch a new manga series, "Daikaijū Gertima," as announced in Kodansha's Monthly Young Magazine. The series is set to debut in the magazine's July issue on June 20.
"Daikaijū Gertima" revolves around the story of a giant monster (kaijū) that emerges from the sea and causes a disaster in the port city of Sukuba. After wreaking havoc, the monster dissolves into the sea, which brings an unexpected blessing to the marine life in the area and boosts the city's economy. The creature becomes known as Gertima, the God of Harvest. The story picks up ten years later when another monster appears in the city.
KENT recently completed the manga "COLORLESS," which ran from January 2019 to November 2022 on LEED Publishing's Comic Border website. The seventh and final compiled volume of the series was released by LEED Publishing on February 20.
